Milord is confident NYC Haiti will win the Int'l FGSL again but admits the team needs improvemen

NYC Haiti defender Harold Milord uttered that his side has the talents needed to win the International FGSL again this season after the team's 5-1 win over Guinea on Sunday.

"We have players to win the league again," the former Ligue Haitienne player said. "We need to include them in our system of play so they can help the team score fast, defend and elaborate our game so we can move the ball well. I think we can succeed and win back-to-back championships."

However the converted defender expressed that Haiti needs to improve for the playoffs and have to look for more quality players who can play their tactics.

"We have a lot of weaknesses in every compartment of the game, in the defense, in the midfield and in our offense, we have to improve. We're not a team that trains everyday so we can't deeply analyze the weaknesses of the team.

"But us players know each other, we used to play in Haiti together, we played here [in the U.S] together and now we're looking to build a team but we have to look for players who can adapt to our system, players who are strong in our tactics."

Les Grenadiers finished the regular season in fourth place with a 5-2-2 record. Their two losses were a 6-1 deficit to Guyana and a 2-0 defeat to Jamaica. The team will face Guinea in the quarter-finals on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

Ahead of the playoffs, Milord also mentioned that NYC Haiti needs to enter the playoff games with a constant starting XI.

"We never complete. This Sunday we have these players and the next game we have a different starting XI, we're missing some people," the 35-year-old said.

Milord leads the team in scoring with two goals, alongside Fritzson Jean-Baptiste, Yvener Guerrier and Tilme Wilson and is second in assist with one.
